Choose mini storage units for the lowest available price
Personal mini storage is our way of responding to a specific consumer need. We have created a new price point for storage in our facility for those customers who require storage but need that storage to be cheap. This new type of unit is for customers who have a small volume of things to be stored and don’t want to pay for storage that they don’t need.
Our smallest unit used to be the industry standard 5 x 5. This unit is a total of 25 square feet. The thing which most people overlook when they are sizing their unit is the height of the storage unit. Jiffy was constructed with extra high ceilings to give customers a greater total volume inside the unit. It’s the total volume that is the important metric for sizing up what can fit in a unit. The simple square foot calculation is too linear and is often misleading.
We took some of our standard 5 x 5 units and cut them in half in the middle horizontally. By doing so, we were able to create two short 5 x 5 units. The footprint of both is the same (25 square feet). The difference is instead of each unit being 11 feet tall, each unit is now only 5 feet tall, giving you the right amount of space for smaller objects such as clothing.
These mini units enable us to make a new and lower price point because we now have two units where we previously had just one.
This is an opportunity for us to create something that can help out our customers who only need a smaller storage space.
These mini units are incredibly popular and they carry a waiting list.
However, we are currently evaluating renovating more units for personal mini storage.
Because these units are unique, there are some tricks to using them effectively. To make the most of these units it’s best to put all of the things you are storing into duffle bags and trunks. This allows you to use every cubic inch of the storage space; the trunks go on the bottom and you can push the bags right up into the corners.
This method is favoured by college students who use this storage between semesters and are already using duffle bags, suitcases, and trunks to keep their things. We also have many customers who are being deployed overseas on missions.
This is a very economical way to store your things while on a tour of duty. Our many thanks to the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces. We look to keeping your stuff safe while you serve our great country.
Mini storage units are perfect for those customers whose storage needs are minimal and only want to pay for exactly the cubic feet they need; no more and no less.
